The $50,000 Garage Mistake That Could Have Been Avoided

Our latest social media spoof video starts with a homeowner proudly pulling into his brand-new garage. Everything is going great...until he realizes his truck doesn't actually fit.

Cue the crunch. A damaged garage. A dented truck. And a very expensive realization: the garage is too small.

While the video is meant to get a laugh, the lesson behind it is one we see every day.

Plans can look great on paper. But living in those spaces is a different story.

A garage that feels large enough on a blueprint may not comfortably accommodate a full-size truck. A kitchen island might look perfect until you realize there's not enough room to move around it. A bathroom may meet code requirements but still feel cramped once fixtures are installed.

These aren't construction mistakes. They're planning mistakes and they're often discovered when it's too late (and too expensive) to make changes.

That's where Walk Your Plans comes in.

This is just the first in a series of Walk Your Plans spoof videos highlighting common design mistakes homeowners can avoid. Stay tuned because we've got plenty more laughs (and lessons) coming your way.
